The Khmer Empire’s remains group of the Angkor Wat that was discovered in the late 19th century inside a Cambodian jungle. It was built over a period of 30 years in the early 12th century. This building surrounded with about 5 km moat is decorated with reliefs describing the Hinduism or the ancient India epic poetry, giving us the impressive beauty and overwhelming us by its high art level of the Khmer Culture.

About 100 thousand people lived in Angkor Thom from 12th century until 15th century. This remains, with the meaning of “the great royal city”, bristling with several four faced Buddha statues quietly, enchants visitors.
The mysterious shaped temple, the Temple of Ta Prohm, was constructed in the 12th century. It is occupied by giant banyan trees as if the trees are falling from the sky. This is put in collapse danger the most especially in the remains group of Angkor Wat.
This temple of red sandstone, located at about 35km northeast away from Angkor Wat, means “the Citadel of the Women”. Demi-goddess devata at the four corners is so beautiful that it is praised as “the Oriental Mona Lisa”. People say that the carvings in this temple, built at the end of the 10th century, are the most beautiful among the Angkor remains.
It is holy pond with the meaning of “ A tree of three bathing”. Beside this big pond with 700 meters from east to west by 300 meters from south to north, there are two lion railing. You also can see that children are bathing there.
It is the first city of the Khmer Empire, which was build 300 hundred years older than Angkor Wat or Angkor Thom. This ruins is located in a peaceful rural district about 30 minutes by car away from Siem Reap.
